How the estimate works. 2026/27 rates: Personal Allowance £12,570, reduced by £1 for every £2 of adjusted net income over £100,000; England, Wales and Northern Ireland bands of 20%, 40% and 45%, or the six Scottish bands; Class 4 NI at 6% between £12,570 and £50,270 and 2% above; employer NI at 15% above £5,000; Corporation Tax at 19% to £50,000 and 25% above £250,000 with marginal relief between (12-month period, no associated companies); dividends at 10.75%, 35.75% and 39.35% after a £500 allowance.

It assumes profit is your only income, no pension contributions, student loan, Gift Aid or other reliefs, and no company running costs. Class 2 NI is not included. Payments on account apply when a bill is £1,000 or more and 80% or less is collected outside Self Assessment.
